Why The Frogs No Longer Sing - A Case Study On The Survival Of A Freshwater Lake.

Filed under: Science Hall — admin @ 1:51 am

I was disturbed to read today that the frogs from the Tasek Chini were no longer singing. They have practically disappeared. This may not seemed strange to you, in fact, you may not have any idea where Tasek Chini is . After all, it “was” a beautiful large mass of freshwater lake in the tropical forests of Malaysia. It “was” because it now no longer is beautiful as it was, with pollution levels reportedly 56 times higher than is considered healthy, and worse, this is right inside the tropical jungle.

The frogs are not the only ones disappearing. The fishes, cobras, pythons are also diminishing in numbers. Weeds called the “Cat’s Tail” have proliferated, snuffing out important sunlight that would allow organisms to grow.

This is worrying enough for some concrete action to be taken to revive the ecosystem. In retrospect, how can action be taken to protect the environment, or a delicate ecosystem such as Tasek Chini, or any other lake in the world?

Here at Tasek Chini I read about the Sustainable Development Network or SUSDEN which is running the Save Tasik Chini Campaign since August 2004, and these are remedial steps taken by the authorities and the Non Government organisations in concert to step the decline:

1. Collect and remove fallen trees and weeds that choke the lake
2. reduce the pollution that comes from newly developed training camps for National Service that have been built near the lake
3. reduce the industrial pollution from nearby oil palm estates that bring fertilisers and pesticides into the lake
4. stop illegal logging activities near the lake
5. disallow opening of land within the forest near the lake
6. introducing programs to empower the aborigines called Jakun living in the surrounding areas of the lakes so that they continue to live there with their traditional resources that are linked to biodiversity conservation.

Most important of all is education to children on the importance of the lake and introduce them to the lifestyle of the aborgines living off the land surrounding the lake. These aborigines lived in harmony with the animals, plants and environment and they ensure the survival of the lake.

Now if you do have a lake in your area where you are living, ensure that the frogs stll sing. Frogs are a good barometer of the environment. Frogs are declining due to habitat destruction, contamination, predation and genetic pollution. Will the frogs sing again at Tasek Cini? We do not know yet, but there is one thing we do know. Irregardless of where we are, if we save the frogs, we may be able to save our lives too.

Politics and Christianity

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 1:32 am

Revelation 20:1-20:10

Politics and Christianity - there has been many an article about this past election. Some, praising Christians and some condemning them. As for me being a Minister, I’m disappointed in both sides.

Politics have no place in the Church. Jesus would not have voted for neither. 2Ti 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Our war is with the spirit and not with the flesh. God ordains the Powers that be. Vote, but don’t get involved in all the rhetoric, the damage has been done, its time to repair it.

Our missions as Christians:

1. Worship God.
2. Preach the Gospel.

3. Be instant in season and out of Season
4. Seek out the Lost

If the Church just did as our Lord commanded, it would not have brought this hate toward Christians. Politicians speak of peace in the Middle East, but the Christian community should know better. Look at God’s prophecy for the Middle East. Rev 20:1-10

Rev 20:1-10 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were behead-ed for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Let me ask a question now that you’ve heard these passages from Revelations. Do you really believe that John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to the Church is True? How many says yes? Raise your hands. Then how can we believe any politician that says that there is going to be peace in the Middle East?
John said in just these few passages that “And I saw”, John was stating facts, a future presentation of war and destruction in the Middle East.

1.”And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.”
2. “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them.” 3. “I saw the souls of them that were be-headed for the witness of Jesus.” I had a brother, the other day; tell me that He doesn’t read prophecy because He can’t do anything about it. This is a common mistake that many Christians make.

Prophecy is as important as the rest of Scripture. Warning after warning from Christ about the impending destruction of the enemies of Israel, and still many want to ignore the facts of the Bible. Many churches will not even acknowledge that the Book of Revelations is for our time. Many clame that the Book of Revelations has been fulfilled. Paul even warned us not to be deceived by any means. 2Th 2:1-4 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. We as Christians from time to time make mistakes and as Paul states many time and even Our Lord Jesus stated, none of us are perfect only God Himself is perfect. Let us learn from our mistakes and go out into the world and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

Time is running out and we all must be about our Fathers business. Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Our Lord commands us, to seek out the Lost for Gods Kingdom, and Brothers and Sisters that is a fulltime job.
2Co 7:8 For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Let us now all, be about our Fathers business and start repairing the damage that has been done, learn from mistakes, repent, bear the burden and go on.

James 5:8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Lift up you eyes Children, Our Repentance Draweth nigh. Here is an artical that was posted in a local paper, I thought it reflects the trend among Christians; Politics shouldn’t be preached at church.

In response to condolences to Democrats of Nov. 5, 2004, my condolences now go out to your church, or maybe I should say lack of churches.

I have lived a rather long life as men go. I have never heard as much perverted gospel coming from pulpits. Many have taken the grace of God and turned it into a Republican campaign gathering.

When anything is preached other than the gospel from the pulpit, it becomes a cult. When anyone is preached except Jesus Christ, he becomes the anti-Christ. (The word anti in this case means instead of — in place of.) Read I John 2:18. “To all those prophets of Baal, it will be a terrible day when you stand before the great white throne for judgment.”

There is nothing wrong with voting for any candidate of your choice. More than one million American servicemen have died in combat so you could have that privilege.

Jesus Christ died for all. I Timothy 4:10 — to suggest that God favors the rich over the poor or the whites over the blacks or any other discriminatory idea is pure blasphemy.

If you have heard politics preached from your pulpit, I would strongly advise you to change preachers or churches because that is not a church of the Living God. Read II Corinthians 11:13-15.

Here is a little update; Members of the small Baptist Church say their Pastor led an effort to kick out congregants who didn’t support President Bush. Nine members were voted out at a Monday church meeting in this mountain town, about 120 miles west of Charlotte.

“I hate to see the church suffer like that,” she said. “God doesn’t care whether you’re a Republican or a Democrat. It just hurts to see that going on.”

Accentuate Your Looks With The Right Purse

Filed under: Gender Issues Hub — admin @ 8:46 pm

We’re positive that no matter how you see yourself — trendy, corporate or casual — your ultimate goal is to look “together” - to look beautiful and elegant in your poise and style of clothing and accessories. You spend hours looking for the right outfit and analyze it many times over to make sure it perfects and gives you that eye catching look. But do you give that same time and scrutiny to your accessories like your purse and handbag before throwing it over your shoulder and leaving the house?

You probably didn’t know that a purse can flatten your curves almost as much as the right pair of pants or shirt. Now that we have your attention read on to determine your shape and what type purse you should carry.

Try to choose a purse shape that is the opposite of your body type. While the shape should oppose your body type for maximum flattery, the size of the bag should be in proportion to your figure. If you are tall and thin, look for the large sloppy bags that lay against you to compliment your figure. If you’re short and voluptuous, play off opposites by choosing a handbag that is tall and rectangular or long and sleek.

Most women look great with a bag that hits mid-torso because it flatters the waist.

Take a look at the five basic body shapes and find the best purse for your shape:

• Narrow Top/Full Bottom

If you have full hips or tummy and small top, draw the eye up with accessories. You should carry a bag with short straps that fits snug under your arm.

• Full Top/Narrow Bottom

If the fullness you carry on top is unwanted (some do pay for it, you know) turn the area into a “no man’s land”. Nothing should cause the eye to linger so draw the eye downwards by carrying long slouching bags.

• Hour Glass

If you got it girl, flaunt it! This shape best describes a woman who is balanced on top and bottom with a defined waist and is considered the ideal body shape. You can carry off anythinglucky lady!!

• Narrow/Top to Bottom

If you are naturally thin, you have always faced the challenges that come with dressing this body shape. If you are unnaturally thin — by choice — you probably, prefer to show it off. The key is to add dimension to your profile. Don’t choose a bag that will hug the body too much. Think unstructured, bulky type purses. Try anything with horizontal detail in the patterns.

• WIDE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

In general, the rounder your figure, the more structured your purse should be. For this body type, shape and color is important. Colors should be muted, monochromatic is best and prints should be kept to a minimum. Draw the eye to the top or center of the torso with a mid-length strap.

Now you know the right purse for you! Always remember to try on the bagjust like you would clothing and shoes. Remember that where the purse touches your body, that part of your body is accentuated. For example, if the purse is under your arm against your breast, the eye is drawn up to the bag.

So take the time to look for the right purse for youit’s not always the same purse that your best friend carries. A purse should not only carry your personal belongings, it should add to your style and looks.

Ernie and Mary Helen Sanders are current retailers of purses for the last 3 years. They spend numerous hours researching trends and styles for women. The Fifth…

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:09 pm

The Seven Festivals of the Messiah by Edward Chumney is our text. This is Festival five of seven.

Introduction: I start by listing the seven festivals for review. The first four festivals are Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, and Pentecost. They teach us primarily about the first coming of Messiah and why these events were important part of God’s redemption of man. The last three festivals are Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the Feast of Booths or Tabernacles. They give us important information and insight regarding the Second Coming.

The Fifth festival–Feast of Trumpets A special season known as Teshuvah, which in Hebrew means “to return or repent” begins on the first day of the month of Elul and continues 40 days, ending with Yom Kippur. Thirty days into Teshuvah, on Tishrei 1, comes Rosh HaShanah. This begins a final ten-day period beginning on Rosh HaShanah and ending on Yom Kippur. These are known as the High Holy Days and as the Awesome Days (or days of Awe). The Sabbath that falls within this ten-day period is called Shabbat Shuvah, the Sabbath of Return. Five days after Yom Kippur is Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles. Teshuvah begins on Elul 1, and concludes on Tishrei 10, Yom Kippur. Each morning during the 30 days of the month of Elul, the trumpet (shofar) or ram’s horn is blown to warn the people to repent and return to God.

This season of repentance is for everyone. God’s people were to examine their lives according to scriptures and examine them regarding the Messiah. This is God’s way to warn people before judgment falls. God warned the people before the flood. He warned Nineveh before it was ruined. God does not want anyone to receive the wrath of His judgment. The whole month of Elul is a month of preparation through personal examination and repentance for the coming High Holy Days. The shofar is blown after every morning service. Psalm 27, which begins with “The Lord is my light and my salvation,” is also recited at the end of the morning and evening liturgy. The message from Elul 1 to Rosh HaShanah is clear: Repent before Rosh HaShanah. Don’t wait until after Rosh HaShanah, or you will find yourself in the Days of Awe.

Rosh HaShanah: Names, Themes, and Idioms 1. Teshuvah–repentance 2. Rosh HaShanah–Head of the Year the Jewish New Year (civil calendar) 3. Yom Teruah–the Day of the Awakening Blast/Feast of Trumpets 4. Yom HaDin–the Day of Judgment 5. HaMelech–the Coronation of the Messiah 6. Yom HaZikkaron–the Day of Remembrance or memorial 7. The time of Jacob’s trouble–the Birthpangs of the Messiah 8. The opening of the gates 9. Kiddushin–the wedding ceremony 10. The resurrection of the dead–the rapture 11. The last trump–shofar 12. Yom Hakeseh–the hidden day.

Messianic Understanding A theme and term associated with Rosh HaShanah in Hebrew is HaMelech (the King). The Shofar blown on Rosh HaShanah is known as the last trump which Paul mentioned in First Thessalonians 4:16-17. At this time, the believers in the Messiah who are righteous according to Yom HaDin (the Day of Judgment) will be taken to Heaven in the rapture along with the righteous who had died before this time. On Rosh HaShanah the coronation of the Messiah as King will happen in Heaven (Revelation 5). Jesus who had come to earth during His first coming to play the role of the suffering Messiah, Messiah ben Joseph, will be crowned as King over all the earth in preparation for His coming back to earth to reign as King Messiah (Messiah ben David) during the Messianic age, the Millennium, or in Hebrew eschatology, the Athid Lavo (Revelation 19:16; 20:4).

One of the reasons for blowing the shofar is to proclaim the resurrection of the dead. In addition, the 13th principle of the Jewish faith is belief in the resurrection of the dead. The resurrection of the dead will take place on Rosh HaShanah (Talmud, Rosh HaShanah 16b). In first Corinthians 15:52, the apostle Paul tells us that the resurrection of the dead will be “at the last trump.” Earlier, in First Corinthians 15:14, he wrote that without the Messiah rising from the dead, our faith is in vain.

We cannot go to the Book of Revelation and say that the voice of the seventh angel (Revelation 11:15) is the last trump. In the first century, the last trump (shofar) meant a specific day in the year. In Judaism, there are three trumpets (shofarim) that have a name. They are the first trump, the last trump, and the great trump. Each one of these trumpets indicates a specific day in the Jewish year. The first trump is blown on the Feast of Shavuot (Pentecost). It proclaimed that God had betrothed Himself to Israel. The last trump is synonymous with Rosh HaShanah. The great trumpet is blown on Yom Kippur, which will herald the return of the Messiah back to earth (Matthew 24:31).

The first and last trump relate to the two horns of the ram, which according to Jewish tradition, was caught in the thicket on Mount Moriah when Abraham was ready to slay Isaac and offer him up as a burnt offering. This ram became the substitute for Isaac even as Jesus became the substitute for us and provided life for us through His death. Isaiah 18:3 and First Thessalonians 4:13-18 speak of the resurrection of the dead. First Thessalonians chapter 5 continues with the day of the Lord and the birthpangs of the Messiah. First Thessalonians 4:16-17 says that the dead in Messiah will rise first, and that the catching away of the believers will immediately follow.

The term Rapture comes from the Greek word Harpazo, which means “to seize, to catch away, catch up, pluck, pull, take by force” The Hebrew equivalent is the word Natzal. Psalm 27:5 says the righteous will be hid in the time of trouble. This Psalm is read every day during the 40-day period of Teshuvah. Second Thessalonians 2:1 says, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.” The phrase, “gathering together” comes from the Greek word episunagoge, which means “an assembly.” In Numbers 10:2-3, the trumpet is blown to assemble the people. The blowing of the trumpet and the assembling of the people also appear together in First Thessalonians 4: 16-17 and First Corinthians 15:51-53.

The PropertyIndex.com Company — Your World Wide Property Information Platform

Filed under: Information Tips — admin @ 9:04 am

PropertyIndex.com make it easy to find property in Dubai, whether you are looking for a villa or an apartment, they can help you find the right property.

Notwithstanding the Property Index online service is really a newcomer business, (they were founded in March 2007), they have established their expertise very quickly. They are actually a extraordinarily informal business exclusively focused on offering their expert guidance to every customer who is proposing to buy realty across the globe. Their assurance: to be of help to you to light on squarely what’s called for quickly plus, of course, without hassle. Real estate is available for the asking across the world in our times, certainly the choicest area being property for sale in Dubai. It should be no effort to tally the great properties you can purchase in Dubai, the rationale for investigating properties here is real estate you can purchase and the great option of living right amid such a high-spirited and vigorous populace.

This is one of the most well-liked markets in our times, and in view of the scenic splendor and the great climate surrounding you, who could say no! Real estate in Dubai is very rich in history, culture and art, this geographical region has always been home to a number of indigenous civilizations. Just 25 or 30 years ago there’d be a mere dribble of English people looking for properties in Dubai. Ask anyone who has removed to Dubai and they’ll certainly back this up. Quite a few people would tend to see it as a fairly insignificant fad and others tend to see it as a close to an infatuation. Shoppers who are willing to repair to this place will range from yuppie couples looking for a perspective to retirees who want to relax and enjoy themselves.

There could be obstacles when looking to purchase properties in a foreign market - there are normally a hundred disparate, rather complex, actions be it when scheduling, surveying or completing. If you miss out on only a single procedure this will well bring about impassable obstacles as well as, most importantly, a financial trouncing. As can be expected with this trendy place, properties might well be expensive in this region and this, of course, is merely owing to the growing buyer demand. Nonetheless property buyers are very spoilt in terms of choice in such a region boasting such a sun soaked geography and ripping vista. Indeed it’s able to offer the whole thing a client might wish for and plenty more.

Comet Tail Communication

Filed under: Information Tips — admin @ 1:51 am

It is possible to put a device on a comet which can not only steer it to distant lands, but also use it’s tail as a communication banner. This idea is not too far fetched as scientists are figuring out ways to encode photons. Atomic Photon Cloud Communications:

http://www.spacedaily.com/news/physics-04zi.html

Right now this experiment is allowing communication between sets of atoms, which has major implications for quantum computing. Also experimenting is being done at Los Alamos National Labs with encoding light with data and so far they have been able to send data over ten miles away on a beam of light. What does all this mean? Well it means unbelievably fast computing speeds, over vast distances. Data and communication at the speed of light, is a fascinating future. As we discuss this it appears we can send data even faster than light itself:

http://kh.bu.edu/qcl/pdf/chiao__r1993751f1505.pdf

When intelligent life wants to contact us, what method might they use? Well, perhaps they have already discovered the concept of Atomic Photon manipulation and are able to communicate using that, perhaps there is data in the light itself? Is intelligent life trying to contact us using the photons sent thru light to our planet in the latest waves of energy waves? Although this sounds like science fiction, we are learning it is quite possible to do that ourselves.

The writing on the tail of a comet is interesting in that as the comet passes planets it leaves its Comet Dust for all to see. Perhaps we should collect some Comet Dust ourselves and de-code it? Aerial Advertisers have often used the heat from the combustion of the aircraft engines at to make smoke signals and clouds with writing on them. The Atom Photon Manipulation is along this line of thinking and can you imagine the amount of data you can send and receive over vast distances using such a method? Scientists have been working on this stuff for quite a while and the age of quantum communication and computing is nearly upon us. Fifty years ago it was more or less science fiction in Arthur C Clark’s books, now it is almost here. If we encode the ice crystals coming off a comet’s tail with messages we have a way to send a messenger across the galaxy.

The ice crystals tail of the comet can contain both a large-scale message and a micro message within the molecules making up the Comet Tail itself. A robotic attachment which uses some of the comet tail for fuel and propulsion will steer the comet to other solar systems and encode the ice crystals as it passed distant planets to deliver a message, a portable message greeting. It will also make ice patterns on the tail so that all who visualize this can see that this comet contains a message.

SEO In A Box?

Filed under: Better SEO — admin @ 10:49 am

Are profitable, top search ranks possible without the help of an experienced search engine optimization company?

Can a software package or online miracle site touting testimonials and grandeur guarantees of success elevate your online presence enough to really increase sales?

Unfortunately, unless the software or miracle website were able to research your market, find hidden niches within it, author intriguing, creative, relevant and keyword laden content, house it in a framework that meshes precisely with that content, dissect and analyze your ranking competition and apply that statistical data within the afore mentioned tasks, you’ll be using that money back guarantee.

The same goes of number one rank promises for a keyword for $49. Now I’m not suggesting a claim like that is bogus or false advertising. But, ask if that keyword or phrase has actually had more than one search somewhere in the world in the past month. Or to shake them, insist your keyword phrase they must bring to the number one spot is “online casino.

IS THERE INEXPENSIVE HELP THAT WORKS?

Is there a working alternative for smaller businesses and sites that can’t budget pro SEO right now? There are techniques that would give your site a chance of rising higher in the ranks. You’ll find countless articles and instructions online and in bookstores about general things you can do to your site to improve it’s online presence.

While helpful and usually accurate, blindly applying techniques to your site without some further knowledge of your own site, your competition, and your online market will hinder your efforts.

With some real world, current analysis of YOUR individual situation at your disposal, you can greatly improve your efforts with even the smallest copy, title or content adjustment. It is going to require some work on your part, no matter what do-it-yourself tactics you employ.

HOWEVER, there are tools and analysis reports available to you that can give you a towering leap for the do-it-yourselfer. Some plain English comparisons of your page vs. the top 10 ranking pages in a particular engine for a particular keyword phrase will define dozens of parameters to begin your do - it -yourself optimization.

How many links do you need, are there better keywords you should choose, and then what do you do with all this information once you have it? Comparisons and analysis of your site and your competitors are usually presented in an easy to understand format and reveal patterns and collected intelligence that can help you re-write and revise your content and page layout and begin your SEO efforts a lap ahead of everyone else.

SET REALISTIC GOALS

You must remember, legitimate, professional search engine optimizers are immersed in their field and are educated with experience. The time, knowledge, talent and effort that you get with a pro is worth every penny.

A professional SEO’s approach involves research of your market, competition and many times a significant renovation of your existing site from code to content. The in-depth detail and deep analysis, content development, link and page structure requires a significant amount of time, experience, and a lot of hand work.

In other words, if you want to feel better and improve your self image, you don’t have to pay a doctor to tell you that eating healthy, taking a vitamin and regular exercise will make a marked improvement in your well being.

If you want the large scale, lasting and radical change a facelift can give you, you must pay a plastic surgeon for his education, experience and talent.

Don’t forget to use some common sense when looking at your market. If you think you’re going to rank for a highly competitive keyword that has several well known companies at the top without the aid of a professional, you’ll probably end up disheartened.

Achieving first page ranks for competitive keywords in a saturated market is a mammoth task, and at the very least would require a full time effort by an experienced firm with resources to take on such a challenge. Don’t be discouraged; with some brainstorming you can think of some related, less competitive keywords and niche markets to target.

HOW A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE CAN GO A LONG WAY

Some very simple copy adjustments in the right place can go a long way on less competitive sites. Let’s look at a few easy changes anyone can make.

Page Titles

The page title, the words that display in the top of your web window, is one of the most crucial elements on the page as far as the search engines go. When you do a search for something what do you type in the search field? Unless it’s a company’s specific name, you type in a keyword or key phrase like “mens cross training air sneakers”.

A very common mistake is to put your company name in the page title. Sometimes it’s appropriate, but for ranking purposes, use a concise description of your page with a prime keyword from that page.

Bonus Hint- Start your first sentence with that same keyword!

Content Quality

You’ll surely find as many opinions about content as there are about politics. Take away the extremes and you’ll find the meat is the same. To increase your rank, you have to have searchable content, and it must be quality. What is quality? More importantly, what do the search engines think is quality?

The answers depend on your site and position on the internet. However, all quality content shares some characteristics.

It’s useful information about your products or service. Don’t throw random free, generic, carbon copied stuff from the web onto your site. Use some thought and creativity. Build copy around different aspects of your target.

LOOK FROM A NEW PERSPECTIVE

If you have a site about restoring classic cars, make a page about the evolution of headlights over the decades. Add another page about how and where to find hard to find classic parts.

Content should be:

Easy to follow- and well written for a human reader, not a search engine.

Unique- write it yourself or hire a writer.

Varied- Don’t fill your page with the same keyword repeatedly or you risk being considered spam. Examine the keyword densities of your keyword in the top 10 listings it returns in a particular engine. Stay within that number.

Take a few more evenings or weekends and improve your ranks by doing some research and digging, and applying that invaluable knowledge strategically to your web site.

KINDS OF SEO RESEARCH you can do to win

There are SEO companies online who offer various reports that can save you a lot of the legwork. Even the simplest of tasks can be too time consuming when you need to focus on editing your pages. For example, finding your current rank, if any, in all of the major engines for all of the keywords you want to rank could take a day on your own. Some other types of reports available are:

Keyword Research-

A list of keywords you or I might make sitting down with a pencil and paper is a good start. The important word here is “start”. That list is dozens of revisions away from completion. It will expand and contract many times as further information is gathered.

Are your words focused and targeted enough so you’ll attract qualified leads? Are there related words and phrases that you haven’t thought of? What words does your competition have throughout their pages? And most importantly, are the words you’ve chosen actually being typed into search engines?

You can find many different levels of keyword services from simple analysis of your existing pages to research and development of an entire list ready for use in your pages, Adwords or PPC campaigns.

Competition Research-

Who is ranking now? Who is in the positions where you want to be? Examine your competition’s pages with a microscope. An Understanding of those you want to outrank gives you a working outline to revise your own. (Do NOT copy their content.) Focus on trends, keywords, densities, titles, page elements… their pages, structures and their links.

On Page Optimization-

A report like this analyzes the words in the elements on your page like titles and boldface or headings as well as your body copy, and link text. It also tells you information about keyword density. Earlier I mentioned that using a keyword too many times on a page could be considered spam. An analysis like this will show how many times each word, word pairs and groups of words were used on a page and what percentage of all the words they are.

A report on a high ranking competitor’s site will give you some insight into a page that is successfully ranking for keywords you want.

Off Page or Link Reports-

As soon as you start learning about search engine optimization, you’ll understand what a key role good quality links play in determining rank. These types of analysis will show who is linking to you, or even better, who is linking to a ranking competitor. You can get some ideas of sites to list with and an approximate number of links of a particular quality that you’ll need to rank.

TAKE SOME ACTION- a few well researched changes can give you a boost

If ranking and online presence are crucial, then find a respected, recommended and experienced search engine optimization professional. The same logic that tells you to go to the doctor when aspirin doesn’t do the applies to this situation.

If budget is constricting, your keywords have little competition, or you’d like to improve your presence to the best it can be without employing a professional then you’d be surprised what a little knowledge and time can do for your ranking. Applying the same techniques every few weeks and keeping your site fresh will put you a level even higher above the rest.

Remember, many variables and factors are considered and given varying weights by different engines to determine where you rank. A brand new site, no matter how optimized it is usually doesn’t show any rank in Google until it miraculously appears about a year later. Older sites of more than a few years often take the top ranks for competitive words.

Don’t be discouraged. The simple SEO methods you read about online or in publications can give your site a stronger presence, but will achieve far better results for you if you employ some smaller, budget based intelligence and research.

Binocular Trends and Technology

Filed under: Information Tips — admin @ 12:24 pm

There have been some incredible developments in optical technology in recent years. One of the most interesting new products comes from a company called Torrey Pines Logic. It has been developed in partnership with the United States Navy, and it is currently being field tested for use in Iraq and beyond. It is called LightSpeed, and it just might revolutionize battlefield communications.

The new device, developed with funding from the Office of Naval Research, is a short-range communications tool that will allow soldiers to talk on a secure channel up to two miles away, simply by looking at one another. It uses infrared to transmit audio and video data, and connects to a standard pair of binoculars. It employs the use of optical lenses to amplify the audio and video signals.

Soldiers in the field can connect headphones and a microphone to the binoculars to speak to one another, so long as they are both using the same device. The great thing about LightSpeed is that it is considerably more secure than traditional lasers or radio. Furthermore, it is extremely low power. This is important because it is less susceptible to being picked up and monitored by the other side. While it is intended for short range, line-of-sight communications, it has proven to be highly versatile in the field.

One application that has showed incredible promise is during vessel boarding search and seizure. The device can be used to transmit biometric data of passengers back to the ship. It is also ideal as a secondary communications device during radio blackouts. LightSpeed is also being tested for use in communications between submarines and aircraft, explosive ordinance disposal, and unmanned aerial vehicle landings.

Although the technology behind the LightSpeed device has been around for some time, it was not until 2003 that it first came to the attention of the US Navy. It was discovered at a tradeshow by a Navy Commander, and submitted to the Office of Naval Research’s Tech Solutions department. ONR’s Tech Solutions is a program that allows Sailors and Marines to suggest potential solutions to technology challenges. LightSpeed received research and development funding from the ONR in 2004, and current field testing shows incredible promise.

What I dislike about the new stay at home fad!

Filed under: Gender Issues Hub — admin @ 10:58 pm

With kids going wild and shooting up schools much criticism has been brought up about both parents working outside the home. It emphasizes on parents being too busy to pay attention to their children. In turn many women are making a conscious decision to leave their careers in order to take care of the little ones (including myself). To me this is good but, some women are forgetting about their financial security and becoming 100% dependents of their partners. Not only that but, they are also failing to brush up on their skills and neglecting their education. In my opinion this is wrong!

I know you may be thinking Kenia why is it wrong to worry more about your children rather than in material things? And here is my answer to you: Dependency may increase the risk of domestic abuse. In case you do not understand my point I will explain: women that are lacking the self esteem, skills etc. to obtain a job as well as having no financial independence often feel trapped in abusive relationships. They stay because they can’t provide the financial security for their children.

Remember all those women that fought for our rights so, that we can too be independent in every way possible. Do not let their efforts be in vain. So, women if you want to stay with your kid because you want to see them grow closely and give them all the love and attention they deserve, Do it! But, remember to keep brushing up your skills or find ways to stay financially independent from home.

Who says you can not have your cake and eat it too? There are many people running businesses from home as well as getting a college education. If you seek for it you will find the resources. But, never loose control of your life!

Your Friend,

Kenia Morales

Filed under: Gender Issues Hub — admin @ 8:59 pm

Some pregnant mums have it easy. Yet others have to go through many hours of labour.

But one thing’s for sure. After the delivery process, many are just plain tired. In addition, having to breastfeed and nurse a newborn several times a night can be exhausting.

The new mum today does not have much time to rest and relax during her confinement period at home. She needs to get back to work pretty quickly and that means, facing added pressure to lose weight so that she can fit back to her office wear.

Post-natal massage may just be the solution to her needs. Here are 6 top benefits of Post-natal massage therapy:

1. Relaxation 2. Stress Relief 3. Relieves aches on shoulders or neck 4. Hasten the reduction of fluid retention. 5. Help uterus to shrink to original size 6. Reduce cellulite and help to tone up the body.

In many parts of Asia, many women before delivery would in fact, prebook sessions with an Indonesian massage therapist for post-natal massage. The treatment is a traditional one which has been handed down several generations and even practiced today. This treatment involves the use of a massage oil applied to the stomach and a tummy wrap (bengkung), essentially a cotton cloth of several metres. The bengkung is used to wrap the body so as to push up the uterus, clear water retention, wind, spasm, shrinks the tummy and helps to reduce weight. Post-natal massage is usually done in the privacy of one’s own home.

For a mother that has delivered her baby naturally, it is generally pretty safe to go for a post-natal massage. For those that delivered by caesarian, be sure to consult your professional massage therapist or your doctor first. Most in fact, would recommend that you wait a few more weeks before proceeding with a post-natal massage.

Post-natal massage provides a sense of continuing comfort for the new mother. The aim of this massage is to give nurturing and emotional support as well as alleviate the muscle strain of labor and childbirth. Some post natal massage therapies also come with a detoxification ritual that rids the midriff of post birth bagginess.

In some instances, post-natal massage can also bring about a much shapelier silhouette, compared to the one just before pregnancy!
