Yee Peng Thai Lanterns

Filed under: Entertainment Infos — admin @ 1:53 am

Festivities aplenty in Asia, South East Asia appears to get the pick of the bunch. Not astonishingly Thailand is the base of Thai Lanterns and are now contacting a far bigger audience as they gain popularity at UK events.Yee Peng festival which follows the Buddhist Calendar and translates to month 12 is one of these festivals. November is when this comes about if your waiting on a Western calendar. Loy Krathong is what you will hear it referred to if you happen to be in another part of Thailand. The Thai people watch this religious festival and the traditions it implies. Releasing the ‘Khom Loy’ or ‘Thai Lanterns’ is my most cherished piece of the event. Following the Lanterns illuminate the nightsky is a genuinely magnificent sight to lay eyes on. It is considered that as the lanterns vanish into th sky so too do your troubles.. A happy and fulfilled life is said to be described by the lanterns flame guiding in the dark. Bamboo frames with a Rice Paper shell is how these Thai Lanterns are fabricated in a biodegradeable fashion.Flight time is about 12 minutes and the Lanterns are notable to reach up of 800 feet! There has been a rise in the popularity (excuse the pun) and reduced airtraffic and airport warnings about possible turbo impairment have even been made out by the Royal Thai AirForce.
